The best months to visit Bodrum are early June and September. The sea sits at an ideal 23–25 °C, the air at about 30 °C, and both crowds and prices are far more reasonable than in the July–August peak. July and August are the hottest and the busiest; May and October give you cool sightseeing weather with a sea that is still swimmable.
In June the schools have not yet broken up, so beaches and restaurants are not at their peak and flights are not at peak price either — the first three weeks are the pick of the month. In September the position reverses: the schools have gone back, the crowds thin out sharply, and the sea is at its warmest of the whole year while hotel prices fall by a quarter to two-fifths.
