Bodrum Airport Baggage Rules
What you can take, which bag it has to travel in, and how to avoid paying at the gate.
Allowances are set by your airline, not by the airport. The security rules below apply everywhere; how many kilos and how many bags you get depends on the fare you bought. Check what your own booking says.
Cabin Baggage
Allowances differ sharply between the carriers serving Bodrum. Jet2 and TUI give 10 kg free; Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and AJet allow 8 kg; easyJet includes only a small under-seat bag free of charge and sells anything larger. Two passengers on the same aircraft can therefore have completely different limits, because the allowance follows the fare, not the flight.

Bodrum has two separate terminal buildings, domestic and international. Check which one your flight uses before you set off, so you are not pushing a loaded trolley between buildings.

The Liquid Rule and Duty Free
In cabin baggage each container may hold no more than 100 ml, and all of them must fit inside a single transparent, resealable 1-litre bag — one per passenger. The capacity printed on the container is what counts, so a half-empty 200 ml bottle is refused.
The rule covers gels and creams as well as drinks: toothpaste, sun cream, perfume, shower gel. Liquids bought in duty free after security travel in a sealed tamper-evident bag with the receipt inside and are exempt — but only while the bag stays sealed. If you are connecting, do not open it.
Baby food, breast milk and prescription medicines are exempt from the 100 ml limit. Declare them at security; you may be asked to open or test them. Local produce is the usual trap on the way home — Milas olive oil, honey and boxed Turkish delight all count as liquids or gels in the cabin.

Luggage wrapping
Your case is machine-wrapped in stretch film on the departures floor, before check-in. It protects against split seams, damp and tampering, and holds loose wheels and straps together. Charged per piece.

Excess baggage
Paid at your airline’s desk, not to the airport, and calculated under that airline’s tariff — per kilo over the allowance for some carriers, as a fixed extra piece for others. Adding it online in advance is normally cheaper.

Outsize baggage
Large, heavy or awkward items do not go on the normal belt but through a separate bulky-baggage desk, where the item is often screened again. Allow extra time.

Sports and special baggage
Bikes, surf, kite and SUP boards, buggies and child seats must be declared to the airline in advance — without notification they can be refused at the desk because hold space is limited. E-bike batteries are refused by most carriers.
