Bodrum Airport Taxis
Taxis wait outside the terminal around the clock and need no booking. Here is how fares work and when they make sense.
Use the official rank and insist on the meter. Unlicensed drivers may approach you inside the terminal asking “taxi?” — they operate without a licence or insurance and overcharge. Official taxis are yellow, display their plate and permit, and run the meter from the start.
How Fares Work
The official taxi rank is directly in front of the terminal exit and operates 24/7. All licensed taxis are metered, and the metered price is usually better than any negotiated figure — do not agree a “fixed price” at the kerb.
Between 00:00 and 06:00 the night tariff applies: the meter switches automatically and all fares are 50% higher. On public holidays the night tariff may apply all day. There is no legal extra charge for luggage — refuse it if asked.
Practical points
Some taxis accept cards and contactless payment, but it is not guaranteed — carry Turkish lira. Note or photograph the plate number. The run to Bodrum centre takes about 35 minutes in normal traffic.

A taxi wins on flexibility: no booking, no commitment, and it is there when you walk out. For one or two people heading to Bodrum centre or Torba, that is often the practical choice.
A pre-booked transfer wins on price certainty and flight tracking. The fare is agreed in advance, the driver monitors your flight and waits if you land late, and you can specify vehicle size and child seats. For three or four people, or for the far end of the peninsula — Yalıkavak, Turgutreis, Gümüşlük — it is usually the better deal, especially at night when the 50% surcharge applies to the meter.
